The game asks your name once, then every match counts towards your career totals on the leaderboard.

Swipe where you want to hit The direction of your swipe is the direction of the shot — flick to the leg side, straight down the ground, or through the off side. On a computer, drag with the mouse or use the arrow keys.

🎯

Time it as the ball arrives The timing bar in the top right fills as the ball comes. Play your shot in the middle of it and the ball flies; play early or late and it dribbles to a fielder.

LOFTED to hit it in the air Choose LOFTED for a shot over the fielders — the only way to clear the rope for six. GROUNDED stays down and runs along the turf.

🛡️

LEAVE THE BALL Let a wide or dangerous one go past. Safer than a wild swing when the ball is nowhere near the stumps.

MOVE in the crease Shuffle forward or back before the ball is bowled to get to the pitch of it.

🏃

RUN, SPRINT and DIVE Runs are earned, not given: press RUN to go, SPRINT to beat the throw, DIVE to make your ground. CANCEL sends you back if you change your mind. Turn on AUTO RUN and the batsmen decide for you.

🎯 How a chase works

🎲

A new target every game Press PLAY and the game sets a random target. The scoreboard shows it, along with how many you need and how many balls are left.

⏱️

18 balls, 5 wickets You bat for three overs. Lose five wickets or run out of balls before the target and the chase is lost.

🏁

Reach it and you win The moment your score passes the target the chase is won — with balls to spare is even better. Then Play Again for a new target.

🧠

The field reads you Keep hitting to the same place and the captain moves a fielder there. Find the gaps he leaves.

🏆 Your leaderboard career

One name, yours alone The first time you play, the game asks for a name. No two players can share one, so pick yours before somebody else does. No email, no password.

Five ways to be top Every finished chase adds to your wins, runs, sixes and fours. Tap any column on the leaderboard to sort by it.

Bigger targets, bigger badges Chase down 40 or more for Big Chase, 46 or more for Monster Chase.

Questions

Is it free, and do I need to install anything?

It is free and there is nothing to install. The whole match runs in your browser.

How big is the target?

Somewhere between 32 and 48 runs, chosen at random every game — about 11 to 16 an over. You will need boundaries.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Turn the phone sideways and tap for full screen — the controls are built for a thumb. It works with a mouse and keyboard on a computer too.

Do I have to pick a name?

Only if you want to be on the leaderboard. You can tap LATER and play straight away; your matches just will not be counted until you choose one.

How do I hit a six?

Choose LOFTED and time the shot in the middle of the timing bar. A grounded shot cannot clear the rope no matter how well you time it — it will run away for four instead.

Will my career be lost?

Your name and totals are kept on our server, but the game recognises you by a code stored in this browser. Clearing your browser data starts a new career.
